L’écluse maritime (ou grande écluse) « François 1er » Met en communication le bassin René-Coty, soumis aux variations de la marée avec les bassins de l’arrière-port à niveau constant. Elle a été mise en service en 1971.

The maritime lock (or large lock) “François 1st” linked the René-Coty dock, with high and low tides to the back harbour, at a constant level. It was used for the first time in 1971. It is the biggest in the world.
