Le Pont de Normandie
Sur une longueur totale supérieure à 2 km (l’équivalent de l’avenue des Champs-Elysées), le pont de Normandie enjambe l’estuaire de la Seine entre Le Havre et Honfleur. C’est un pont routier à tirants.
Il a fallu dix ans pour concevoir, mettre au point, financer puis réaliser cette merveille dont le tablier central de 856 m est soutenu par une arachnéenne voilure de haubans accrochés à deux pylônes dont la hauteur dépasse 200 m.
Depuis les premiers travaux de fondations (1988), jusqu’à l’été 1994 quand les deux rives ont été raccordées, dix millions d’heures de travail difficile et parfois dangereux auront été nécessaire pour mener à bien le chantier orchestré par des centaines d’ingénieurs.

With a total length exceeding 2 km (equivalent of the length of Champs-Elysées avenue in Paris), the Normandy Bridge spans the estuary of Seine between La Havre and Honfleur. It is a cable-stayed road bridge.
