Jean Goujon
Architecte et sculpteur, figure majeure de la Renaissance française. Ses premières œuvres connues datent de 1540 lorsqu’il réalisa les bas-reliefs du château d’Ecouen pour la famille de Montmorency. Ces bas-reliefs pleins de grâce et de vie reprennent des thèmes antiques, comme Diane au bain.
Autre œuvre fort connue des parisiens la « Fontaine des Nymphes » devenue maintenant la « Fontaine des Innocents » réalisée entre 1574 et 1549.
Provenant du jubé de l’église Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois de Paris, le Louvre possède l’œuvre originale de Goujon « Les Quatre Evangélistes: Saint Jean, Saint Luc, Saint Marc, Saint Mathieu ».
Protestant il devra s’exiler en Italie où on pense qu’il est mort.
