Filateur, industriel et inventeur français Edouard Delamare-Deboutteville réalisa en 1883 avec l’aide de son chef mécanicien Léon Malandin, la première voiture automobile qui, actionnée par un moteur à explosion, ait réellement roulé sur une route (brevet en 1884).
Cette invention normande n’ayant pas été suivie d’une réalisation industrielle, tout le monde pense que la 1ère voiture à été réalisée en Allemagne par Daimler, mais c’est faux !
